Less Waste, Easier Cleaning | Meet the BEVS Automatic Spray Panel Workstation

In modern coatings R&D and quality control, preparing standard test panels is a critical step. However, traditional air spraying methods often come with three major challenges: inconsistent coating quality, excessive material waste, and time-consuming equipment cleaning.
BEVS Automatic Panel Spray Station offers an efficient and reliable solution to these issues.
Proven Performance in Customer On-Site Testing
Recently, a customer visited BEVS facility to evaluate the Panel Spray system in person. Their key concerns focused on three aspects:
1. Coating Quality
Test panels are primarily used for gloss evaluation, requiring highly consistent and high-quality finishes.
2. Material Savings
Frequent testing consumes large amounts of coating materials—reducing waste directly lowers costs.
3. Efficiency
With high testing frequency and frequent coating changes, minimizing cleaning time is essential for improving overall efficiency.
To meet the customer’s needs for small-batch, multi-sample panel preparation, BEVS provided the following solutions:

BEVS 3236 is equipped with the following advanced technical features:
- Positioning accuracy: Ensures consistent spray path alignment
- Spray pressure range: 0.1–0.5 MPa
- Travel speed: X-axis 10–600 mm/s, Y-axis 10–100 mm/s
- Spray distance: Adjustable from 150–250 mm
With fully programmable control, engineers can precisely set all parameters. During the on-site test, a batch of sample panels was prepared for the customer.
The results were highly impressive: the panels showed excellent finish quality, with outstanding coating uniformity and gloss. The surfaces were free from common defects such as orange peel, sagging, and pinholes—demonstrating the system’s exceptional spraying stability and atomization performance.
After natural drying, the panels were measured at multiple points using a coating thickness gauge. The film thickness deviation was controlled within ≤2 μm. Such exceptional thickness consistency provides a solid foundation for excellent leveling and uniform gloss, fully meeting the customer’s stringent requirements for coating quality.

In traditional spraying processes, a significant amount of coating material is lost during spray gun cleaning and excessive atomization.
BEVS offers a range of flexible and efficient coating supply solutions, including anti-settling systems and syringe-type feeding systems.
For this test, a 150 ml gravity-feed spray cup was selected as the optimal solution. With its small capacity and simple structure, it is particularly well-suited for small-batch, multi-sample panel preparation—effectively reducing material waste while improving operational efficiency.
In the central laboratories of large-scale coatings manufacturers, producing over 100 test panels per day is routine. This means that saving just 5 minutes per cleaning cycle can translate into more than 8 hours of valuable labor time saved in a single day.
After the testing was completed, BEVS 3236 Automatic Panel Spray Station demonstrated remarkable cleaning efficiency. Its self-cleaning system can thoroughly clean both the spray cup and spray gun within just one minute.
A uniquely designed circulation system reduces solvent consumption by up to 50%, further lowering overall operating costs.
Through on-site testing, the core technical advantages of the system were fully validated:
1) PLC Control & Servo Drive Technology
The system integrates advanced PLC control and servo drive technologies to precisely regulate spray pattern, travel speed, and positioning of the spray gun.
This enables:
- Excellent atomization quality
- Smooth and stable operation
- High repeatability
- User-friendly operation
Overall, these features significantly enhance both performance and system reliability.
2) Air Spraying Technology
Equipped with a pneumatic system, the Station can be used with either a syringe-type coating feeder or a coating reservoir.
This ensures:
- High spraying efficiency
- Superior film formation
- Smooth and aesthetically pleasing finishes
3) Wide Application Range
Compatible with both water-based and solvent-based coatings.
4) Proven Performance in Real Applications

BEVS Automatic Panel Spray Station features precise parameter control, significant material savings, and highly efficient cleaning performance.
The sealed and controllable “spray chamber” design ensures eco-friendly and sustainable operation, representing a major advancement in coating testing. It helps laboratories improve panel preparation efficiency while reducing overall operating costs.
